synopsis
Scripted from interviews with Serbian émigré Suzana Jeremic, Dreams of Jagodina follows the journey of a young woman through the desolate terrain of domestic violence, and the complex relationship between herself and her mother who is unwilling, unable to leave. With symbolic imagery, the protagonist's vivid, recurring nightmares are interwoven with interview text to deliver both factual and emotional history.

Suzana Jeremic
Suzana Jeremic was born in Jagodina, Serbia. At age twelve she began acting in the Gradsko Pozoriste Theatre, Jagodina. During her teen years she developed an interest in Chorine Dancing and traveled the Adriatic coast performing. At age seventeen, she left Jagodina to study at Belgrade University. Shortly after the Yugoslavian civil war began, Suzana won the American Visa lottery. She currently resides in New York City.
